GLWI July 2016 Opportunities for Adult Enrichment

HELPING OUR CHILDREN DEVELOP IMPULSE CONTROL, a Workshop for Parents, with Mary Jo Oresti, M.A., Wednesday, July 6, 7-8:30 p.m., Tamarack Waldorf School, 1150 E. Brady St., Milwaukee

Both children and adults can experience joy in learning, yet sometimes we do not feel fully focused, nor do the children in our care. What can we do as adults to strengthen our own capacities for relaxed and focused attention and what can we do to support the same in our children? How is impulse control related to “executive function”? Mary Jo will share little known gems from Waldorf pedagogy and current research, including practices and exercises for children and adults to strengthen will power and cultivate inner balance.

Mary Jo Oresti pioneered the Association for Healing Education’s Educational Support Training programs 30 years ago and has been a long time faculty member at the Detroit Waldorf School. She is an international consultant to Waldorf Educational Support programs and trainings.
