JOIN US ON A JOURNEY OF EXPLORATION!
Great Lakes Waldorf Institute’s 2018 -19 courses, weekend retreats and adult enrichment events are designed to inspire, renew and challenge you. Courses may be audited for professional development and continuing education opportunities or taken to earn a Waldorf Teaching Certificate or a Master’s of Arts degree in Education from Mount Mary University with a Waldorf Teaching Certificate. Great Lakes Waldorf Institute has the experience and expertise to meet your educational goals.
A good teacher must know the rules; a good pupil, the exceptions. Martin H. Fischer
One looks back with appreciation to the brilliant teachers, but with gratitude to those who touched our human feelings. Carl Jung
As insightful as the quotes above maybe, the vision of a room full of students hunting for the exception, or the thought of being an educator able to touch the human feelings of each child might cause you to think twice about teaching as a career.
Teacher preparation at Great Lakes Waldorf Institute is thoughtfully designed to challenge your preconceived notions about yourself – socially, intellectually, physically, and artistically – helping you to develop and strengthen your capacities in a supportive social and collegial environment. Our curriculum and independent classroom study with experienced teachers will assist in the development of your contemplative capacities; deepen your understanding of the whole human being as it unfolds through the critical phases of childhood; help you explore and identify pedagogical approaches and skills that will enhance your teaching; and expand your ability to work with colleagues and parents.
All courses can be audited at a reduced rate for professional development or continuing education. For further information, please contact Sandra at 414.299.3820 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
