SPOON CARVING: Uncovering the Spoon within the Wood – Adult Enrichment with Dawn Van-Kley Imes

Participants will uncover the spoon within the wood. Whether you would like to make a spoon for your own kitchen or are interested in learning how to teach spoon carving to children in the Waldorf school, this course is for every skill level and you get to keep the spoon!
A message from Dawn –
Participation in this workshop will exercise your capacity for imagination and transformation of the physical world through the will elements of motive and wish to do better. In addition, you will experience how through focused repetition, attention to detail, and critical judgment you can enhance your capacity to do right.
LOCATION: PRAIRIE HILL WALDORF SCHOOL
Dawn Imes has been the practical arts teacher at Prairie Hill Waldorf School for more than 25 years. Before joining Prairie Hill, Dawn was the handwork teacher at the Milwaukee Urban Waldorf School. She and her husband, Michael, were artists in residence at Bardstown Elementary and High School in Kentucky.
Dawn completed her BA in Studio Art from Southern Illinois University, in Carbondale, IL. She has taken several Waldorf Teacher Training courses at Mt. Mary University and Arcturus. Dawn has a certificate of completion in Puppetry from Juniper Tree Puppetry in Colorado. She is a lifelong learner, participating in many Waldorf workshops and trainings.
