Simone Shurney MSEd

Simone Shurney was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan.  She graduated from the University of Michigan in 2011 with a major in Sociology and a minor in Spanish literature.  The following year she completed the Educational Policy Program at the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned an MSEd.  Simone completed her Waldorf teacher training at the Waldorf Institute of Southeastern Michigan and is now a member of the board of directors there.

Simone is an alumna of the Detroit Waldorf School (DWS), graduating with the eighth grade class of 2003.  She worked as an assistant at DWS for two years before taking her first class in 2014.  She is now the rising fourth grade teacher.
